Dave Morgan, noted chassis
specialist, returned for a 2 day seminar, this past weekend.
Racers were encouraged to bring their cars for inspection
and suspension fine tuning. The seminar included
in-depth classroom study on Saturday and hands-on work on
Sunday.

2011 Perfect
Light Award

Motor Race Images will return
for the 2011 season, as sponsor of the motorraceimages.com
Perfect Light award competition. The Perfect Light award
recognizes a racer's remarkable talent of attaining a
perfect light during any qualifying or elimination round, of
the 2011 season, at Oahe Speedway. Each perfect light
will be awarded with a certificate and commemorative pin
recognizing the accomplishment.
The racer with the most perfect
lights during the 2011 season will be recognized at the year
end banquet, and will be awarded $250.00 for his or her
efforts. 2nd through 4th place finishers will be
awarded cash prizes, as well as the Junior Dragster driver
with the most Perfect Lights.
The point fund will start with
$250.00, and for each Perfect Light, another $10.00 will be
added to the fund. The award, beginning its fourth
year of competition, has awarded over $2100.00 in prize
money.

Pizza of Pierre, has signed on as the 100 MPH Club sponsor
for 2011. Oahe Speedway featured selected Papa Murphy's
products during the 2010 season. The speedway welcomes
store owner's Dan and Jackie Slocum, to the speedway family.

David Schiffner Passes
David
Schiffner,
April 23,
1959-January 12, 2011
David Schiffner, son-in-law of Ralph
Compson, and brother-in-law of Randy Compson, all of Valley
City, ND, passed away on January 12, 2011. Schiffner,
an avid drag racer,
competed at Oahe Speedway
several times over the past few years.
The entire Oahe Speedway family
offers its condolences in the passing of David.

2011 Rule Changes

Important
rule change affecting many Oahe Speedway competitors
Effective June 1, 2011, all
cars running 9.99 (6.39 -1/8th mile), and quicker, will be
required to have SFI Spec 45.1 padding applied to any part
of the roll cage or roll bar that the driver's helmet may come in
contact, while in the driving position.

Is Coming To Oahe Speedway in 2011

The
Scotty
Richardson Drag Race School
is coming to
Oahe Speedway on Friday, July 1, 2011. The school starts on
Friday morning with a classroom session (at a location to be
named) and continues that afternoon, with track time at Oahe
Speedway, located 14 miles north of Pierre, just off SD Hwy
1804.
The main
focus of the
Scotty
Richardson Drag
Race School is
to start with
the basics and
then teaches you
how good drivers
win time after
time. The cost
is $250 for the
classroom
portion
(seminar) or the
seminar and on
track portion is
$400. “This is
an incredible
opportunity to
enhance driver’s
skills and
improve their
performance,"
mentioned Oahe
Speedway's
Marlin Roseland,
"everything from
the proper
reading of a
time ticket to
playing the
finishing line
will be
covered.”
