latest issue of National Dragster. Legner and
her 1967 Super Gas Chevelle are highlighted in a full page
article as part of the coverage from the recently completed
Big O Tires Nationals at the Strip at Las Vegas Motor

The Legners presented Bob Frey, retiring NHRA announcer,
with a special Oahe Speedway "Rock" , comemorating his years
of service to the sport of NHRA drag racing. The
presentation took place during opening ceremonies proir to
final eliminations on Sunday, October 28. Joining
Frey, Legners, and a couple Las Vegas Showgirls on
stage were Tim Herman, Tyler Ehlers, Jason Ehlers, and Chris

Oahe Speedway's 2012 Coca Cola Points Series
Champions were crowned last Saturday evening, at the Ramkota
River Center in Pierre. The event closed out the 8th
season of NHRA drag racing at the Speedway.

Bob Frey's Retirement

Bob Frey, long-time announcer and the voice of NHRA, will
retire at the end of the 2012 racing season.
Frey began his announcing career at Atco (NJ) Dragway in
1966, and has been a part of the sport ever since.
As one of the most recognizable voices of the sport, the
veteran announcer will step away from the booth, but will
still remained involved in a more limited and
Frey and a film crew visited Oahe Speedway in 2010, for a
"Sportsman Spotlight" feature on "NHRA Today". The
crew spent the day shooting footage that featured Bobi
Legner and her '67 Chevelle. In addition, Frey spent
time in the tower, adding color commentary to the first
rounds of competition.
To honor Frey's contribution to the sport, Doug and Bobi
Legner, took a specially created Oahe Speedway "Rock" to Las
Vegas this past week., Frey will be working his last
two NHRA events, Las Vegas and Pomona, in early
