For those
who want to try their hand at street legal drag racing, Oahe
Speedway offers you the chance to test yourself and your car
on the same drag strip used by the regions best drag
racers.
Here’s
how it works:
Anyone
who shows up with a street legal car (including trucks and
motorcycles), a helmet, long pants and a shirt with sleeves,
closed toe shoes, and $20.00, can make as many runs on our
track as time allows. You will get to use the burn out box,
“Christmas Tree” starting system, and scoreboards, just like
our regular competitors. Our track announcer will be
standing by to call all the action.
AAA of
South Dakota/ NHRA Drags-Street Legal Style-permits
participants to choose their competition, rather than
participate in an organized eliminator.
Win or
lose, participants may return to the staging lanes for more
time trials or grudge runs. Only legitimate street –legal
machines are permitted to participate. Fully rigged race
cars will not be allowed to run.

Rules and
Regulations
1.
All vehicles
must be a street legal car, truck or motorcycle that is
currently registered for street use
2.
Helmets are
required for all racers.
3.
All drivers
must have a valid driver’s license and must be 16 years old
to race. Drivers who are 16 and 17 years old must have a
waiver signed at the front gate by parent(s) and must be
accompanied by an adult.
4.
Drivers
cannot wear shorts, nylon wind pants, or tank tops. No bare
legs of bare torsos permitted while racing.
5.
Cars cannot
be faster than 14.99 seconds in the quarter- mile with a
rider. All riders must be 16 years or older. If under 18,
they must have a parent consent form that is signed at the
front gate.
