Classes

 

The Class Guidelines below are taken from the NHRA Summit Racing Series.  In most all cases, these are the same guidelines used for the 2010NHRA Summit Racing Series ET Finals.  For further clarification, please refer to the 2010 NHRA Rulebook. 

 

2010 Rule Amendment

Please Note: All cars running 10.99 and quicker must have an NHRA accepted locking-type dipstick on the transmission

 

Super Pro (S/P)

  • 7.00 – 11.99 seconds.

  • Electronics:  Allowed

  • Computer:  Prohibited unless stock OEM equipment. 

  • Data Recorders:  Prohibited. 

  • Delay Boxes:  Permitted.

  • Transbrake:  Permitted.

  • Line Lock:  Four-wheel line lock permitted.

  • Automated Shifter:  Permitted.

  • Throttle Control:  Permitted.

  • Ignition:  Shutter boxes prohibited.  Starting line and or ‘high side’ rev limiters permitted.

  • Switches and Buttons:  All switches and/or buttons must be standard mechanical connection type.

  • Please Note:  The ET break for running Super Pro  at the 2010 Division 5 ET Finals is 7.00 to 12.00

Pro (P)

  • 9.00 – 13.99 seconds. 

  • Electronics:  Prohibited.

  • Computer:  Prohibited unless stock OEM equipment.

  • Data Recorders:  Prohibited.

  • Delay Boxes:  Prohibited.

  • Transbrake:  Permitted(Only NHRA accepted trans brakes allowed)

  • Line Lock:  Four-wheel line lock prohibited.  Normal two-wheel line lock permitted.

  • Automated Shifter:  Permitted.

  • Throttle Control:  Throttle must be manually operated by the drivers.  Electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, or any other device may in no way affect the throttle operation.  A dead stop under the carburetor or gas pedal is permitted.  Throttle timers, counters prohibited. 

  • Ignition:  Stutter boxes prohibited.  Starting line and or ‘high side’ rev limiters permitted.

  • Switches and Buttons:  All switches and/or buttons must be standard mechanical connection type.

  • Please Note:  The ET break for running Pro at the 2010 Division 5 ET Finals is 9.00 to 13.99

Motorcycle / Snowmobile / All Run (B)

  • Motorcycles, ATV’s, and Snowmobiles.

  • Same electronics rules as Super Pro.

  • Chain guard:  Required.

  • Please Note:  The ET break for running Pro Bike at the 2010 Division 5 ET Finals is 7.50 to 14.00.

Sportsman (S)

  • 10.00 seconds and slower.

  • Computer:  Prohibited unless stock OEM.

  • Open Headers:  Permitted.

  • Slicks:  Permitted.

  • Data Recorders:  Prohibited.

  • Delay Boxes:  Prohibited.

  • Transbrake:  Prohibited.

  • Line Lock:  Four-wheel line lock prohibited.  Two-wheel line lock permitted on non-drive wheels only.

  • Automated Shifter:  Prohibited unless OEM equipped.

  • Throttle Control:  Throttle must be manually operated by the drivers.  Electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, or any other device may in no way affect the throttle operation.  A dead stop under the carburetor or gas pedal is permitted.  Throttle timers, counters prohibited. 

  • Ignition:  Sutter boxes prohibited.  Single state rev limiters permitted. 

  • Switches and Buttons:  All switches and/or buttons must be standard mechanical connection type.

  • Please Note:  The ET break for running Sportsman at the 2010 Division 5 ET Finals is 12.00 to 19.99.

Street Trophy (S/T)

  • 13.00 seconds and slower.

  • Electronics:  Prohibited.

  • Stock Exhaust:  Required.

  • Street Tires:  Required.

  • Street legal vehicles.

High School (H/S)

  • Students 16-18 years of age.

  • Drivers must have parental release form signed prior to competition.

  • 10.99  seconds and slower.

  • High School competitors are limited to full-bodied cars with full fenders, hood, grille, top, windshield, and functional doors.

  • Please Note:  The ET break for running Sportsman at the 2010 Division 5 ET Finals is 12.00 and slower.

Jr. Dragster (J/R)

 

JRDL 2010 Rule Amendments

 

  • All applicable NHRA  and JDRL rules and amendments in effect.

  • All Oahe Speedway policies and standards inn effect.

  • Oahe Speedway always encourages courtesy staging.

  • When exiting the racing surface, please watch for safety personnel directions and be aware of the car in the opposite lane.

  • Any Jr Dragster gamblers held will be an all run format consisting of first round non-winners.  Gambler participation is voluntary.

  • All Junior Dragster must stage under their own power.

  • For the 2010 season, there will be a "no touch zone" rule in effect at all events. The zone will be marked by cones, approximately 10 feet to the rear of the staging beams.  Once any part of the car passes the "no touch" line, crew members CANNOT touch the car.  Only Track Officials are allowed to "pull back" an entry.  In all cases, the starter's discretion will be the final determination of any infractions.

  • If a Junior Dragster accidentally stages deep, the driver should indicate by raised hand for a re-stage.  A Track Official , only, may pull the car back and allow the car to restage , under its own power. All racers will get one (1) chance to restage per round. 

New for 2010 Season

Junior Dragster Classes

 

Oahe Speedway  will run two Junior Drag Racing League classes in 2010

The competitors will be split into Major and Minor divisions.

  • (JR/MA) Major Division -  Drivers 13 years and older. Those drivers 13 years old, on or before April 1 of  the current race season will be allowed to race in the Major Division.   Major Division drivers cannot compete in the Minor Division. 

  • (JR/MI) Minor Division - Drivers 12 years old and younger.   Minor Division drivers will not compete with the Majors, with the following exception: Drivers who are 12 years old as of April 1 of the current race season will be allowed the option to compete in the Major Division. 

Class Guidelines for 2010

  • Drivers will not be able to race in both divisions on the same day.

  • Drivers enrolled in the Oahe Speedway point series may only earn points in the class in which they are competing on that race day. 

  • Attendance points will be awarded in the class in which the driver competes.   Perfect attendance will only be awarded for participation in a single class. 

These guidelines are for the Oahe Speedway Point Series races only. At this time, Saturday Shootout races will be an all run format, with the following exceptions:

 

July 17, 2010 - The Lynn's Dakotamart Junior Dragster Countdown to the Jam will be run according to these guidelines (Non Points Race)

 

July 18, 2010 - The Junior Jam presented by Watertown Ford Chrysler will be run according to these guidelines (Non Points Race)

 

September 4, 2010 - The Pro Seal Inc JRDL Challenge will be run according to these guidelines (Non Points Race)

 

October 10, 2010 - The fall Finale season end class race may be run as a Major/Minor event based on car count.  (Non Points Race)
