Oahe Speedway

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

Oahe Speedway will add Live Timing for the 2010 season.  Following several months of planning and discussion, we have signed the deal with Harry and Kay Fair, of SAGERA, LLC.  Live Timing will add a new dimension to racer and fan experience at Oahe speedway.   The system will allow members access to all run data effective opening weekend,  April 17, 2010.  Data will include all runs made by all competitors from that date forward.

A membership fee will be required to access the data.  Both racers and fans will get 12 months access to the data for $19.95 per year.  If a racer would like access to multiple tracks, they may pay an additional $19.95 for that data.

Monday, March 1, 2010

Oahe Speedway will add two new classes to its racing program in 2010.

In addition to the 1/4 mile action, in all the standard classes, we will

add two new 1/8th mile classes, officially referred to as the Oahe Speedway "Half Track Attack".   We will  run a Box and a No Box class, as part of our regular programs on each race day.  These two new classes will not replace any of our other regular classes. Racers will be able to enter  their regular classes and run the 1/8th mile classes, if they so choose.

Dave Morgan’s Seminar is Coming to Pierre on April 10, 2010!

Dave Morgan will bring his nationally-renowned chassis tuning seminar to Pierre on April 10. The cost of the seminar is $85 per person and will last all day long. “The most important advice I can give racers before they attend, “Morgan said, “Is to come to the seminar well-rested. I promise the course will be intense and I’m going to run my students over with information. They need to come and be ready to learn.”

A complete course outline is available at Dave’s website www.davemorganseminars.com, but a brief explanation follows:

  • ·        Understand torque and the forces that make the suspension work.

  • ·        Learn how to inspect the car and find small problems before they become major problems.

  • ·     Learn how to watch the car launch.

  • ·        Learn about corner weights.

  • ·        Learn how to make the chassis more durable and tunable.

  • ·        Learn how to tune with shocks.

  • ·        Find out how to choose a spring.

  • ·        Learn how to solve the front suspension problems.

  • ·        Find out how to tune the rear suspension.

To register, you can go to the website or call Dave directly on his cell phone. His number is 567/242-9779. You can also e-mail him at staaytuned@aol.com.
