weekend's NHRA Division 5 National Open at Oahe Speedway.

his '66 Nova, with a 9.94 pass at 131.86 MPH.

Speedway. Mattson drove his '92 Camaro to an 11.17
pass at 118.03, to set the record.
National Records Await Stock/Super Stock Visit
Wednesday, September 19, 2012
National records can be set during this
weekend's NHRA Division 5 National Open. The Speedway
traditionally garners at least a couple national records in
Stock and Super Stock classes. With ideal atmospheric
conditions and cooler temps, the weekend is one of the best
for setting records. The Speedway has held three
records since last fall. It has only been within the
past three weeks that two of the records returned to
minimums. Records set by Gene Bichelmeier, of Norfolk,
NR and Wayne Denklau, of Wayne Ne, In GT/I and SS/K,
respectively. NHRA resets the records to minimums
every two years.
Ron Mattson, of Cloquet, MN, still holds the H/SA
record going in to this weekend.
Oahe Speedway's Retains National Records
Tuesday, December 20, 2011
The Speedway retains the three national records held by Ron
Mattson, Gene Bichlmeier, and Wayne Denklau. As we
close out the 2011 season, it is a safe bet that the records
will stay with Oahe through the first Division events of
2012.
Mattson, of Cloquet, MN, holds both ends of the H/SA
record at 11.17 seconds and 118.03 MPH., set during the 2011
NHRA National Open at the Speedway. Denklau and
Bichlmeier set their respective class records during the
2010 National Open.
Denklau, of Wayne, NE , set the SS/K record at 10.20
with a speed of 128.11 MPH and Bichlmeier, of Norfolk, NE
snared the GT/I record at 9.92 seconds, stopping he clocks
at 132.67MPH. As a side note, Bichlmeier also
holds the SS/J record, 9.97/131.39, set at
