Team Oahe Speedway heads to Bandimere

Oahe Speedway will take 27 racers  to Bandimere Speedway, just outside Denver, for the Division 5 Summit Racing Series ET Finals.  The competition begins on Friday morning and continues through Sunday afternoon.  Teams from all Division 5 member tracks are invited.  Each member track is allowed to enter 36 racers and 4 high school entries.  Super Pro, Pro ET, Sportsman and Pro Bike will contend for Division 5 championships.  The winners of each category will qualify the NHRA Finals in Pomona, CA, in November. 

In addition, a Race of Champions will be held Saturday evening.  Oahe Speedway's own Chris Boom, of Pierre, took top honors in the Race of Champions, at Heartland Park Topeka, last fall.  Boom looks to defend his title.  In the absence of 2008 Super Pro champion, Curt Hieb, of Chamberlain, Jeff Friman, of Pierre, will represent the speedway in the Super Pro Race of Champions.  Friman, was runner up to Hieb, in the 2008 Budweiser/Coca Cola Super Pro Points Series.  Other speedway class champions, Pro ET champ, Stan "Butch" Monson, of Groton, and Sportsman champ, Travis Falcon, of Pierre will fill out the Race of Champions roster.
