Event Detail for July 15, 2006

National Dragster Challenge

Winners of each class will win a special-edition coveted Wally Trophy.  The following classes will be participating in the National Dragster Challenge:  Super Pro, Pro, Motorcycle, Sportsman, Street Trophy, and High School.   The Jr. Dragster Class is not eligible to compete in the National Dragster Challenge; therefore, the Winner and Runner-Up of the Jr. Dragster Class will each win a trophy.

Since 2002, National DRAGSTER, the weekly publication of the National Hot Rod Association, has presented its popular National DRAGSTER Challenge for E.T. bracket racers at NHRA member tracks.  The winner of each event is rewarded with a special-edition pewter Wally trophy, the most coveted prize in drag racing.

“Many grassroots drag racers at the local level are unaware of the benefits of NHRA membership,” said Adriane Ridder, NHRA vice president-publications.  “The goal of the National DRAGSTER Challenge and the Test Drive issue is to bring attention to those benefits, such as the award-winning drag racing news, features, and photography in National DRAGSTER; the Be a Winner, Be a Member prize incentive program; and the $485,000 excess medical insurance coverage, to name a few. We also want to reward  the weekend warriors who support our NHRA member tracks with the opportunity to compete for a Wally.”
