October 19, 2010

“Ron Plender, of Box Elder, has informed Oahe Speedway that his 1950 Chevy 3100 pickup has been certified as a C/Gas record holder by Inliner’s International.  Inliner’s International is an organization dedicated  to the preservation and promotion of performance, in line powered vehicles.  Plender set the record during the running of Oahe Speedway’s first annual “Old Skool Drags” this past August.   Powered by an inline six cylinder 292 Chevy, producing  450 horsepower, Plender’s truck lowered the C/Gas ET record to 11.602 seconds in the quarter mile.  Plender also captured the MPH record, at 114.91.”

A side note: Oahe Speedway is an altitude adjusted NHRA sanctioned drag strip.  At the corrected altitude of 1700′, Plender’s record would be pushed down to 11.458 seconds.
