Michael James Corbett, Mike, was born on Saturday June 9, 1962, to proud parents James Wendall Corbett and Deanne Evelyn (Webber) Corbett in Great Falls, Montana.
His father’s teaching profession exposed Mike to a great educational foundation. He lived in many different communities in Montana, including Billings, Lewistown, and Havre. He attended schools in Polson, Kalispell, and Sidney, graduating from Sidney High School in 1981. He drove truck for Denowh Sand and Gravel until his boss told him to sign up for college; Mike then enrolled at Northern Montana College in Havre, and he graduated in 1984.
While attending NMC, he met a girl in his automotive class. He fell in love with Linda (Hall) because of their common interest in cars. Linda and Mike were married on June 24th 1985.
After college, Mike worked at many local car dealerships in Forsyth and Miles City including Bogg’s Chevrolet, Heberle Ford, Mac’s Frontierland, Notbohm’s and lastly at Deluxe Motors. He was a talented mechanic and could fix any make and model. He passed away on Sunday March 19th in Miles City.
Mike loved to fill his time with drag racing, his dog Daisy, watching the Packers and travelling with Linda. He had three Cocker Spaniels: Chevelle, Malibu, and Daisy.
Drag cars included a 1965 Chevrolet Malibu, a 1980 Chevrolet Malibu (Larry Kopp’s old car), a 1984 Chevrolet Camaro (old Pro Stock car) and then back to the 1965 Chevrolet Malibu (which Linda and Mike totally rebuilt), a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro and the 1968 Chevrolet Impala station wagon. All his drag cars had 4-speed trannies with the last 3 in the Stock Eliminator class. He valued his many friendships in the racing community as much as he enjoyed winning any race.
An avid muscle car collector, Linda’s and Mike’s collection includes Chevelles, Corvairs, Corvettes, Camaros, and Pontiacs. Mike bought his first big block SS396 Chevelle while still in high school which he still owned at the time of his passing. He always could be found working on and restoring a muscle car or drag car in his garage at his home. Mike always took time to help friends and family troubleshoot mechanical issues on their cars.
He is preceded in death by Charles and Irene Corbett- his father’s parents, Harold and Audrey Webber his mother’s parents, Charles and Gerald Corbett his father’s brothers, Michael Webber mother’s brother, and James Wendall Corbett, his loving father.

He is also survived by in-laws Jim, Helen, Wanda, Jim; nieces and nephews – Jessica, Alyssa, Katie, Drew, McKinley and Laina.
